Selecta Succulents
Aeonium leucoblepharum (Type 1)
Aeonium leucoblepharum (Type 1)
Origin: This Aeonium species, which is native to mountainous areas of East Africa is one of two, the other being Aeonium stuessyi. When originally describing the species, a red midstripe on the leaf was never used to reference either of them. It is still unknown which is which, hence our naming of Aeonium leucoblepharum (type1) and Aeonium leucoblepharum (type2).
Description: This is a shrubby Aeonium with branched or hanging stems and can grow to approximately 2m tall. The rosettes are yellowish/green to dark green and the leaves usually have a red/brown mid stripe with a red to deep orangey hue on the margins.
Care: They do best in partial sun and require a well draining soil with infrequent watering to flourish. In summer they may go dormant and only require water in very dry conditions. The leaves may also curl to prevent water loss.
*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. All plants are approximately the same size as in the photo, for reference, the pots in the photos are 7.5cm.
