Origin: A hybrid of unknown parentage.

Description: This stunning hybrid gets its name from the Portuguese word for ‘molasses,’ ‘Melaco,’ which refers to its rich glossy leaves. The rosettes are made up of spade shaped leaves that vary in colour from; salmon, copper or brown in the summer to plum and chocolate brown in autumn through spring. The rosettes grow up to 15cm in diameter and produce offsets as they age.

Care: They do best in partial sun, but can tolerate a few hours of full sun, although midday sun should be avoided during the summer months. They should be planted in a well draining soil mix to flourish.

*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. All plants are approximately the same size as in the photo, for reference, the pots in the photos are 7.5cm.
