Astrophytum capricorne var. crassispinum

Common Name(s)/Synonym(s): Goat’s Horn Cactus, Echinocactus capricornis 

Origin: Native to Mexico.

Description: This strange-looking cactus with a solitary bright green stem is almost completely bare of the typical white woolly flecks. This slow growing cactus can reach up to 1.2m tall and 15cm in diameter. It usually has 8 ribs and up to 8 spines per areole, which are noticeably larger, stronger and thicker than the common capricorne. 

Care:  They do best in sunny conditions and require regular watering in growing season. They need a fairly dry winter to avoid root rot, so should be planted in a well draining soil mixture.

*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. Currently planted in 10cm square pots.
