Common Name(s)/Synonym(s): Cobweb Spiderwort, Hairy Wandering Jew, White Velvet, Tradescantia pexata
Origin: Native to Mexico.
Description: A densely branched plant with fleshy, prostrate to ascending stems bearing dull olive/green to greyish/green leaves with a dense layer of white hairs. The stems are also covered with white hairs and grow up to 40cm long, rooting at the soil surface. Leaves are ovate, folded, arranged in 2 ranks, up to 5cm and half as wide. They turn bright purplish red under high light conditions. The underside of the leaves is reddish/purple.
Care: These plants are quite resilient and do best in partial shade or even sunny areas, as long as the soil is well draining and kept moist.
*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. All plants are approximately the same size as in the photo, for reference, the pots in the photos are 7.5cm.
