Echeveria ‘Black Prince’

NOTE: This hybrid is quite variable, and the plant we know today as Echeveria 'Black Prince' does not entirely match the first description provided by Abbey Garden.

Common Name(s)/Synonym(s): Similar plants to Echeveria 'Black Prince' are distributed as Echeveria'Black River'.

Origin: A hybrid resulting from a cross between Echeveria shaviana and Echeveria affinis.

Description: A stunning Echeveria that forms star shaped rosettes of deep plum to almost black. The new growth in the centre of the rosettes is a bright green which is a stark contrast to the darker outer leaves. The rosettes grow up to 15cm in diameter, producing offsets from the base to form a dense clump. Leaves take on rusty orange tones when grown in bright sunlight.

Care: They do best in partial sun, but can tolerate a few hours of full sun, although midday sun should be avoided during the summer months. They should be planted in a well draining soil mix to flourish.

*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. All plants are approximately the same size as in the photo, for reference, the pots in the photos are 7.5cm.
