Echinocactus grusonii

Common Name(s)/Synonym(s): Golden Barrel Cactus, Mother-in-Law’s Cushion, Kroenleinia grusonii

Origin: Native to Mexico.

Description: This slow growing spherical cactus usually has a solitary stem that becomes barrel shaped over time. The sharp golden coloured radial spines sprout from numerous areoles that form on the many ribs. The pale green stem grows up to 1m tall and approximately 1m in diameter.

Care: They look their best with lots of sunlight, and like most cacti are drought tolerant. Plant in a well draining soil mixture and water infrequently.
