Gymnocalycium horstii

Common Name(s)/Synonym(s): Spider Cactus 

Origin: Native to Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Uraguay.

Description: A 5 to 6 ribbed cactus with green depressed globose stems. Each rib has 3 to 5 areoles which the spines grow out of, curving back towards the body. Stems grow up to 25cm in diameter, producing offsets that form a clump over time.

Care:  They do best in sunny conditions and require light shade in the hottest months. They should be planted in a well draining soil which should be left to dry in between watering. 

*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. Currently planted in 7.5cm square pots.
