Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum
Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum
Common Name(s)/Synonym(s): Bishop’s Cap, Astrophytum myriostigma subsp. glabrum
Origin: A form of Astrophytum myriostigma without tiny white hairy scales.
Description: A spineless cactus with a spherical to cylindrical, usually solitary stem with 3 to 8, typically 5 ribs. It is similar to the typical form of Astrophytum myriostigma but lacks the tiny white hairy scales on the stem. The stem grows up to 1m tall and 10cm in diameter.
Care: They do best in sunny conditions and require regular watering in growing season. They need a fairly dry winter to avoid root rot, so should be planted in a well draining soil mixture.
*These plants are sold/couriered bare root without the pot and soil. Currently planted in 10cm square pots.
